THE IMPORTANCE & VIRTUES OF SURAT AL IKHLAS & MUAWITHATAIN
Surah Al-Ikhlas
Importance:
Surah Al-Ikhlas is the most comprehensive definition of who Allah (SWT) is, and living by Surah Al-Ikhlas is enough to keep you safe from disbelief. These verses of Surah Al-Ikhlas are the most quoted verses when it comes to explaining the message of Oneness of Allah (SWT) in Islam.
Virtues:
Muadh bin Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Whoever recites (Surah Al-Ikhlas) ten times, Allah (SWT) will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Musnad Ahmed 15183, Sahih according to Al-Albani)
Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: A man heard another man reciting, Surah Al-Ikhlas, again and again. The next morning he came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and told him about it, as if he thought it was not enough to recite. The Prophet said, “By the one in whose hand is my soul, it is equal to a third of the Quran.” (Sahih Al-Bukhārī 4726)
Surah Al-Falaq
Importance:
Recitation of this Surah directs the believers to start their prayers by calling upon Allah (SWT) believing that he will guard them against all the wicked forces of black magic, evil eye and spirits.
Virtues:
Aisha reported when the messenger of Allah (PUBH) would lie down for sleep, he would blow into his hands, recite the two chapter of refuge, Surah Al-Falaq and Surah Al-Nas, and he would wipe his hands over his body. (Sahih al bukhari 5960)
The Prophet (PBUH) used to seek refuge from the jinn as well as from the evil eye until Surah Al-Falaq and Al-Nas were revealed. When they were sent down, he utilized them and left other things. (Tirmidhi 1984 )
Surah Al-Nas
Importance:
Surah Al-Nas teaches us a dua to seek refuge in Allah (SWT) from all the attacks which come from inner self, and to seek refuge from Shaytan who cause us doubts and desires that compromise our belief in the oneness of Allah (SWT)
Whoever recites this Surah in his house every night, will be kept safe from Jinn and the evils of Shaytan.
Virtues:
Uqbah Ibn Amir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that the messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “No seeker of refuge can seek refuge with anything like these two (Surah Al-Falaq and Surah Al-Nas)”. [Abu Dawud]
In summary, the“3 Quls” (Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, Surah Al-Nas) are powerful and significant surahs that provide many benefits to those who recite them daily.
IMPORTANCE AND VIRTUES OF AYAT AL KURSI
Importance:
Reading the Holy Quran is a great way to overcome turmoil, anxiety, and distress, and to relieve us.
There is one particular Ayah that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) spoke of, that is said to give its reader great
benefits in this life and the afterlife – Ayat Al-Kursi (Surat Al-Baqarah 2:255), also known as the Verse of the Throne.
Virtues:
Recitation of Ayat Al-Kursi in the morning will keep you under the protection of Allah (SWT) until evening. Whoever recite Ayat Al-Kursi on a daily basis will remain protected from Shaytan and his mischiefs.
If someone recites Ayat Al-Kursi upon entering their home, then poverty won’t enter the home.
Abu Hurairah reports: “Whenever you go to bed, receite “Ayat Al-Kursi” If you do so, Allah (SWT) will appoint a guard (angel) for you who will stay with you and no Shaytan will come near you until morning.” (Bukhari Book #38, Hadith #505)
